Tyvek® is a popular choice of material for packaging and protection. It can provide secure, dust free layers between parts/products to keep them clean and avoid scratching. Due to its longevity, Tyvek® is re-useable which makes it ideal for a lifetime worth of returnable packaging which reduces waste and saves money.
Inserts made of Tyvek® can be recycled after use, offering a sustainable solution that can also help to reduce disposal costs at the end of the product life cycle. Tyvek® provides high protection for sensitive parts, both painted and not, which enables parts to be shipped before fully cured to save time and inventory costs with minimal risk.
Tyvek® materials are:
· Inherently water and mould resistant, inert to most organic and inorganic chemicals and can stand up to mishandling and abuse.
· Extremely flexible and protective, meaning systems can be tailor-made to optimize space, which prevents damage to parts being moved during storage and transport.
· Smooth and low friction, making it safe for parts that might be scratched or contaminated by other materials (Special styles of Tyvek® can also be used when cushioning or padding is desired, providing even greater protection for more fragile and delicate parts).
· So lightweight and thin that they take up very little space in the packaging containers, so more parts can fit in one container and after folding, it takes up less space for return transport, saving transport and handling costs in both directions.
