Why choose 3M 467MC & 468MC?
3M™ 467MC and 468MC both feature a 200MP laminating adhesive on a specially engineered 3M liner, which creates micro-channels in the adhesive surface. The crosshatched pattern creates a continuous and permanent network of micro-channels in the back side of the adhesive, allowing air to escape from between the adhesive surface and the substrate. This helps to facilitate bubble free laminations of graphics to substrates.
3M™ Adhesive 200MP is a popular choice for graphic attachment and nameplate applications because it has excellent quality, consistency and durability.
Product Features
· Clarity (virtually free of vapor inclusions that are commonly found in adhesives produced by the traditional solvent coating technique).
· Excellent high temperature performance as well as excellent shear strength (that minimizes edge lifting and slippage of parts).
· Excellent resistance to harsh environments; this adhesive can withstand splashes of organic solvents, weak acids and bases, and salt water, cleaning solutions, germicides, disinfectants, oils, etc. In addition, it performs well after exposure to humidity and hot/cold cycles.
· Provides some initial repositionability when bonding to plastic parts (not metal) which allows graphic parts to be lifted and repositioned if initial alignment is incorrect.
· Adhesive family is provided with a polyester and PCK liner configurations to help ensure excellent process flexibility.

Liveo, manufacturers of Staufen rigid PVC, advised us that they would be rationalising some product lines to improve efficiencies and contain costs.
Staufen MR grades of rigid PVC have changed from a Velvet/Matt to a Velvet/Gloss finish, which is the product supplied across European markets. Whilst the surface finish of the velvet side is similar to before, the gloss reverse side does change the appearance of the product when reverse printed, especially with blacks and darker colours. The new product is generally less hazy with colours appearing more vibrant, and blacks are improved. The 'new' product is easily identified with a gloss reverse (print) surface – as seen below.
'Old' vs 'New'
Stocks of the 'old' product have been exhausted, and we are supplying the new version going forward. The transition process has been lengthy, with letters and samples being sent out for testing of the new Staufen Mark-Resist PVC.
Whilst many customers have been able to switch to the new variant, the change in printed appearance has not been acceptable for all applications. In these cases, Cadillac Plastic recommends Cadco Velvet/Matt Polycarbonate film as an alternative.
'Old' vs Alternative
Cadco Velvet/Matt Polycarbonate film offers a number of advantages over rigid PVC, including superior cosmetic appearance and consistency, better handling and physical properties, and a greener environmental profile. The price difference between rigid PVC and Cadco Polycarbonate has narrowed over the past couple of years, so it is definitely worth exploring as an option.

Why choose Tyvek by DuPont for packaging and protection?
Tyvek® is a popular choice of material for packaging and protection. It can provide secure, dust free layers between parts/products to keep them clean and avoid scratching. Due to its longevity, Tyvek® is re-useable which makes it ideal for a lifetime worth of returnable packaging which reduces waste and saves money.
Inserts made of Tyvek® can be recycled after use, offering a sustainable solution that can also help to reduce disposal costs at the end of the product life cycle. Tyvek® provides high protection for sensitive parts, both painted and not, which enables parts to be shipped before fully cured to save time and inventory costs with minimal risk.
Tyvek® materials are:
· Inherently water and mould resistant, inert to most organic and inorganic chemicals and can stand up to mishandling and abuse.
· Extremely flexible and protective, meaning systems can be tailor-made to optimize space, which prevents damage to parts being moved during storage and transport.
· Smooth and low friction, making it safe for parts that might be scratched or contaminated by other materials (Special styles of Tyvek® can also be used when cushioning or padding is desired, providing even greater protection for more fragile and delicate parts).
· So lightweight and thin that they take up very little space in the packaging containers, so more parts can fit in one container and after folding, it takes up less space for return transport, saving transport and handling costs in both directions.

With employee wellbeing as a top priority, at Cadillac Plastic, we recently bought a defibrillator. Our life-saving device has now been registered on The Circuit, a network that allows the people who need it, to find a defibrillator in time.
Hopefully we will never need to use it, but we feel safe in the knowledge that it is at hand for our staff and neighbouring businesses.
Did you know that, in order for a patient to have the best chance of surviving an out of hospital cardiac arrest, CPR and early defibrillation must be provided within the first 3-4 minutes of the cardiac arrest. Registering your device helps. Register it here https://www.thecircuit.uk/ where you can specify availability times and access.
Register your life-saving defibrillator with the circuit.

Some substrates are much harder to stick together than others and this is a product that provides a solution to these tricky low surface energy materials. An added advantage of 3M 300LSE is the ability to bond surfaces that are both flat and curved, without lifting. The acrylic adhesive also provides excellent adhesion to surfaces contaminated lightly with oil typically used with machine parts.
Use Our 3M Product Selection Guide to Choose the Best Adhesive for Your Application
Application: For maximum bond strength, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Typical cleaning solvents are heptane or isopropyl alcohol. Carefully read and follow manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use when using cleaning solvents.
